We are proud to reintroduce the Progressive Party — Farmer and Labor. We invite you to take a moment to join us and become part of the grassroots progressive movement sweeping the nation. A real progressive movement, for real progressives.

Take a minute, look around, and get to know your new political home.

Here in the Farm and Labor Party, we’re of, by, and for the people. That’s not just a slogan — it means something. We don’t take a dime from outside PACs or big-money donors. It also means we’ll be outspent unless folks like you stand with us.

We hope you’ll join us in the fight to protect and expand the civil liberties of every American.

The Farmer And Labor

Party Platform

  • The Farm and Labor Party (FLP) believes every worker deserves a fair shot. No matter where you work or what you do, you should have the right to stand together with your coworkers, speak up, and make sure you are treated right. Better wages, safer workplaces, and a chance to get ahead—that is what every worker should have.

We recognize that labor has too often been shut out of decision-making and wealth-sharing within the modern economy. To counter this, we advocate for substantial investment in employee-owned cooperatives and worker-led enterprises. If labor is denied a seat at the table, then labor should own the table.

    Our commitments:

    • Stronger labor rights for everyone.

    • Full protections for gig workers.

    • A living wage that keeps up with the cost of living.

    • More worker-owned businesses, cooperatives, and democratic workplace.

  • The FLP is fighting to put power back where it belongs — with small family farmers and rural communities. For too long, big corporations have gobbled up the food system, crushing small farmers, driving up food prices, and squeezing out local economies.

We are done letting a handful of monopolies control what we eat and who grows it. We must invest in the future of rural America. This means modernizing family farms to make them more competitive and sustainable, expanding rural healthcare to ensure healthier communities, and developing transportation infrastructure such as light rail to connect rural regions with economic opportunities. We will fight to break up the big ag monopolies and put family farms back in the driver’s seat. We will invest in the basics that rural communities need: modern farms, better healthcare close to home, and real transportation options to connect people and goods.

    Our priorities:

    ·         Support small farmers and agricultural co-ops as the backbone of local food systems.

    ·         Break up agricultural monopolies to reduce corporate control.

    ·
Make substantial investments in rural America: modern farming technology, improved healthcare, and better transportation.

  • The Farm and Labor Party (FLP) is committed to breaking up monopolies and restoring fairness to the American economy. We believe it is to put people over profits. Through strong regulations, we will ensure everyday Americans are protected from corporations that exploit workers, consumers, and communities.

Big Tech is spying on you, selling your data, and manipulating what you see for profit. We will not stand by while billionaires use your information against you. Our public services should never be up for sale. Schools, hospitals, water systems, and other vital institutions belong to the people, not to the highest bidder. We will end privatization and restore public control where it belongs. Everyday people and small businesses have a fairer, more democratic economy.

    We will:

    ·         Break up the monopolies.

    ·         Support worker co-ops and employee-owned businesses.

    ·         Protect your digital rights and your privacy.

    ·         Build up credit unions and small businesses to give people real choices.

  • The Farm and Labor Party (FLP) stands firmly with minority communities and all people in their fight for social justice, equality, and civil rights. We are committed to putting equality first—not by favoring one group over another—but by defending the inherent dignity, civil liberties, and inalienable rights of every person.

But we know what is standing in the way: greed and corporate power. Corporations are not people, and they never will be. Yet time and again, the rich and powerful use money and influence to buy rights that should only belong to you, the people. That is not simply wrong, it is dangerous. Corporations are not people, and they should not be allowed to buy power or steal our rights.

    What we stand for:

    ·         Expand civil rights and liberties for all people.

    ·         End the lie of corporate personhood.

    ·
Guarantee equality—not just for the few—but for everyone.

  • The FLP supports a robust social democracy where no one’s basic needs, healthcare, food, or retirement—are subject to for-profit markets. We will expand essential programs, including Medicare for All, Social Security, and universal food assistance, ensuring all Americans have the security they deserve.

We are going to pay for it the right way—by making the ultra-wealthy and giant corporations pay what they owe. No more billionaires dodging taxes while working families struggle. Every vote should count equally, and every voter should have real choices. We implemented ranked-choice voting within our own party for leadership and endorsements, Aswell we push nationally to abolish the Electoral College in favor of a direct popular vote.

    We will work toward:

    ·         Healthcare, food, and retirement security for all.

    ·         Making sure the wealthy pay their fair share.

    ·         Fair elections with ranked-choice voting.

    ·
Ending the Electoral College so every vote counts.

The first modern Farmer–Labor Party in the United States took root in Minnesota in 1918, fueled by outrage over the economic injustices of the World War I era.

As prices for everyday goods skyrocketed, farmers saw their crop prices collapse, and workers faced falling wages. Both groups were squeezed from every side while big business and war profiteers thrived. Refusing to accept this exploitation, farmers and workers joined forces, building a powerful political movement to fight for their shared interests.

Though the original party dissolved in 1936, its spirit lived on through the re-establishment of the Minnesota Farmer–Labor Party, in 2025.
